Natural Magnesium Hydroxide Flamme Retardant

Magnesium Hydroxide is best known as the active ingredient in Milk of Magnesia, an antacid and laxative which has been used for 150 years. It forms a suspension in water, and its reaction with acid only dissolves it gradually, giving it long-lasting effects. At higher doses, rather than acid neutralization, its primary action is to hold water, as it is not absorbed by the large intestine, relieving constipation.
It is also used as a fire retardant and smoke repressor in various applications due to an endothermic decomposition reaction which takes place at 332°C, releasing magnesia and water. Further applications include wastewater treatment, as a fuel additive, and production of magnesium salts.

1. Magnesium hydroxide is an excellent flame retardant for plastic and rubber products. In environmental protection as flue gas desulfurizer, can replace caustic soda and lime as acid containing wastewater neutralizer. Also used as oil additives, anti-corrosion and desulfurization effect. In addition, can also be used in electronic industry, medicine, sugar refining, as insulation materials and manufacturing other magnesium salt products. 

2. Magnesium hydroxide has excellent buffering performance, reactivity, adsorption and thermal decomposition performance. It can not only be used as chemical materials and intermediates, but also as a green flame retardant and additive for rubber, plastic, fiber and resin and other polymer materials industry. Magnesium hydroxide is mainly used as flame retardant, acid wastewater treatment agent, heavy metal removal agent and flue gas desulfurization agent in the field of environmental protection. 

3. The product can be used as flame retardant or flame retardant filler to add to polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene and ABS resin, has a good flame retardant and smoke elimination effect. 

4. The product is also used in the manufacture of magnesium salt, refined sugar, pharmaceutical industry, daily chemical industry, etc. The steam it emits also acts as a smoke suppressant.
